Started Eggplant and Pepper Seeds

I know it’s another cloudy, snowy, cold day, but we must think spring. Think ahead to the warm soil and planting season and then enjoying our fresh picked produce. It will be here before you know it. Eggplant and peppers are very slow growing. I started the seeds this week. Farmer John said it’s also time to start your cool weather crop plants such as cabbages. I leave that for Farmer John to grow, thanks.

I like to grow Ichiban Japanese long variety of eggplant. I don’t have any luck with the other varieties. The eggplant I bought didn’t specify the variety it just said long Japanese eggplant. I’ll be surprised. I also grow jalapenos since I pickle them and use a lot in cooking. I don’t have luck with bell peppers so I stick to a long, sweet pepper and they grow very well. This year I’m trying Marconi Red, Italian Roaster. Grow little seeds grow and provide me with an abundance of produce.
