Cathy's Garden Fresh Cooking Blog

It’s time to check for pests in the garden!

It’s that time of year agian, when you start seeing the garden come to life. All that work looks like it’s going to pay off. The tomato plants are lush, green and the tomatoes are beginning to ripen. The flowers are blooming and the garden looks beautiful. Then… I stepped into the garden today to find out raccoons have been taking bites of green tomatoes and tossing them aside. A tomato worm ate the entire top of a tomato plant and the Japense beetles are munching on the flowers throughout the flower gardens.

So frustrating!

Get out in the garden and take action against these pests before it’s too late! Just a reminder, look up last year’s posts in homegardencook.com for more information and pictures under the “gardening” sections; “Beware of the Tomato Worm” and “Japanese Beatles”. Good luck.
