Cantaloupe?

I had some volunteer plants coming up in my garden early June; it looked like either a cumber or a zucchini leaf. Since I had both of them planted in the garden, it was an educated guess. As the leaves matured, I knew it wasn’t zucchini and thought for sure it was cucumbers. I knew one had rotted in the garden so, it had to be. I was so sure I didn’t even plant any cucumber seeds and this was a nice patch of them growing. I had my husband put up a bamboo tepee for it to climb. Then the fruit appeared! Definitely not a cucumber, it was a little hairy and more round. Can you guess what it was? Cantaloupe! No, I never grew cantaloupe but the seeds must not break down in the compost. They are growing vigorously, despite the lack of rain and extremely hot temperatures! Check out the picture! I have one that is, well, full grown cantaloupe size! I will let you know how it tastes once it is fully ripened.
